The popular afternoon daily family soap Kashmakash Zindagi Ki, which is being aired on Doordarshan has completed 500 episodes.
It has the distinction of earning a revenue of Rs 22 crore for Doordarshan in two years. Ever since its telecast began two years ago, it has maintained its position among the top five. The serial produced by Ashok Wadhwa and Anup Wadhwa and directed by Aloknath Dixit is aired at 1.30 pm every day from Mondays to Fridays and stars Sudha Chandran, Deepshikha, Kishwar Merchant and Zarina Wahab among others. Geeta Kapur, the choreographer and master of Dance India Dance, realised that her temper got the better of her when eliminations were announced last week. One saw her fuming with anger as she stormed out of the dance floor pulling her contestants and her troupe in tow. So furious was Geeta that by the time she reached her make-up room, she slammed the door on the faces of the camera guys who are supposed to capture the 'behind the scenes' of the show. it was only later that, when her anger had abated a little that she realised that the pin of the door lock had fallen down due to the impact of the door being slammed shut! As anger turned to panic, Geeta had no option but to call for help. What ensued was a total pandemonium of sorts at midnight. The fire department had to be called in and they dispatched a fire-brigade to rescue Geeta and her gang that was stuck in the room!
